Spalletti’s reaction to Inter’s hard-earned defeat to Genoa
Inter Milan struggled to clinch a 1-0 win over Genoa in the Italian league game at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Milan on Sunday (24/09/2017).
Inter had to wait until the 87th minute to score the winning goal via Danilo D’Ambrosio with a header.
This is the fifth victory of the six matches that Inter Milan has played in Serie A this season.
Coach Luciano Spalletti is grateful for the winning goal scored through the dead ball situation.
According to him, Inter’s current squad has players who are physically superior and are able to capitalize on dead ball situations to score goals.
“We play the ball too slowly but the players play like teams, the opponent closes us well and does not give us any chance,” Spaletti said as quoted by BolaSport.com from Inter’s official website, inter.it.
“Of course we have to do more, use creativity and more intensively, we have to be more unpredictable in possession of the ball, make space and move forward,” he said.
Spaletti said he and the club would continue to clean up and go beyond their limits to give the best for supporters.
“The supporters have helped us, they want us to do well and we do our best to repay their allegiance,” he said.
“We have to create the mentality and the spirit that we can, showing the same attitude shown by the big team,” he said.
